Presentation

1 The Directress first shows the child how to carrythe box of color tablets to the table, holding with both hands.

2 The Directress sits beside the child and places the box of tablets in front of the child. Directress shows how to take the color tablets out from the box by holding them at the edge with 3 fingers: the thumb on one edge and the 2nd. and 3rd. finger on the other edge without touching the colored part of the tablet.

3 All the tablets are removed from the box and placed on the table mat at random.

4 Then the Directress starts matching the color tablets into pairs, starting with the three primary colors - blue, red and yellow. Directress then invites the child to pair the rest of the color tablets.

5 Directress then uses the Three Period Lessons to introduce the names of the color tablets. Revise the lesson with the three primary colors and then introduce one new color with two from the previous lesson at a time.

Points Of Interest

The color tablets should be held between the thumb, the index finger and the middle finger. this is in direct preparation for holding a pencil.
During art session, may allow the child to experiment with the colors and observe the results of mixing colors.

Develop the child's visual perception on color.

Teach the child the names of the colors.

Give the child experience in matching.

Develop the child's fine motor control.

Prepare the child, indirectly, for controlling a pencil.

Any potential surprise fees should be surfaced too, such as duties and taxes the customer may incur.
